Red Wings defenseman Andreas Lilja will continue to practice once training camp starts on Sunday, but hasn't been cleared to participate in scrimmages, general manager Ken Holland said.
"He's cleared for physical activity but not cleared for physical contact,'' Holland said. "He still has symptoms (headaches). He'll practice but anytime we have contact he can't partake.''
Lilja said he hasn't gone more than two days without headaches, which he has been experiencing the last few days. He remains in limbo, likely to start the season on long-term injured reserve. He won't be cleared to play until he goes an extend time (perhaps two weeks) without symptoms.
